“Lazy Susan” – You don’t hear much about this wonderful item lately, but you should! Do you know how many uses there are? – LOTS! It’s not just for the classic “condiments on the table”, no, no, no my friend. There’s waaay more. 🙂
Have you made use of a “Lazy Susan” lately? Or… wait… Do they still call them that? Or is it discrimination? I’m not gonna fall into THAT trap and have the Susans of the world upset with me, so I should probably just call them “turntables”. That’s what they put on the label nowadays anyway. Once upon a time it would have been confusing to call them turntables. Can you imagine having the internet back in the 80’s? – All the housewives looking for a “Lazy Susan”, keep getting record players popping up. Then, all the D.J’s opening up their delivery and finding a glorified spice rack? lol 😉 While there are still record players out there, being called “turntables” as well, I think I’m still better off sticking with that name. 🙂
So now that we have cleared up that part, let’s talk about “turntables”. 😀 It is definitely a great item to have in all sizes. They can be used out in the open or in cupboards, behind closed doors. They work well either way.
On a table, they are great, because you don’t have to reach over people or constantly interrupt dinner conversations by saying, “can you pass the….”
In cupboards, they are great, because you can expose hidden items with a little twist of the turntable. SO easy.
Here are a list of places you can make use of the turntable:
- Bathroom Items
- Nail Polish
- Condiments – in the Fridge or on the Table
- Cans, etc. in the cupboard – a huge timesaver!
- Cleaning items – you will need a larger one possibly
- Coffee centre/tea, sugars, etc.
- Toothpastes, flosses, etc.
- Office Supplies
- Shoes – saw a large one(DIY 5-tier) online. 🙂
- Arts & Crafts
- Sewing Supplies
- Jars of….. ? – nuts, bolts, buttons, etc.
- Tupperware-ish items – put a large one under your lower cabinets to find Tupperware much easier.
- Plants/herbs – this way you can turn them for sun placement.
If you go to the proper store, you will have no trouble finding the turntable to suit your needs. Recently, my parents were heading out to Wal-Mart with my daughter. I asked them to look for a “Lazy Susan”(oops). When they went, they were told there hasn’t been one of those in the store for years… Whaaaat? Well, at an organizing store, and many other places they have PLENTY. In fact, at s store called “Solutions”, there is a whole row filled with different styles. Below are some pictures you can see just some of the variety. And they come in ALL sizes.
These are an awesome and easy way to make your life a little easier in any room of the home or office, even the garage! Once you start using them, you will find yourself saving time, and that’s what it’s all about! I always hope, by implementing these ideas, to give you back a little time in your day, every day. 😀
Thanks for tuning in!!!
